The Griddle Pickers

The Griddle Pickers are an acoustic country and bluegrass band, dedicated to producing organic, homegrown music. Based out of central Ontario, these musicians have been steeped in the area’s diverse mix of musical traditions. The result is a group which delights audiences of all walks of life, playing a unique blend of traditional and original bluegrass, country and folk tunes.

The Griddle Pickers are a tight band with close family ties. Brothers Sean and Dale Patrick provide lightning-quick pickin’ for the group, supported by bassist Mike Milner and his guitar-strummin’ daughter Sarah Milner. All members lend their vocal talent to the band, boasting vocal ranges from bass to soprano, resulting in rich harmonies.

The group doesn’t shy away from breaking rules and taking risks within the traditional genres, and as a result have been turning heads—the band has been featured by Bluegrass Canada Magazine, The Banjo Reserve, PTBO Canada, Trent Radio, and the T.V. program Orillia Arts Scene.

In the short time time they’ve been active, The Griddle Pickers has gained a following across central Ontario through playing a variety of events and shows.

In the past year, the group has reached new milestones, including launching a successful Indiegogo campaign, performing for a packed pub tent at the Mariposa Folk Festival,  and playing on the main stage of both the Quinte Isle Bluegrass Celebration and the Holstein Bluegrass Celebration. Their debut EP Wrong Time has received glowing reviews in The Wire Magazine and The Banjo Reserve. Today, The Griddle Pickers are continuing to develop their catalog of original songs, and are expanding into new audiences across North America.
